Working with partners and registries across the carbon market

Why CTX

A market built so both sides can trust the trade.

Buyers need to know the credit is real and will arrive. Sellers need to know they will be paid. The exchange is designed around both.

No counterparty risk

CTX connects directly to the registries, so credits and sale proceeds move together. Every trade settles the same day (T+0), and delivery of the credits and payment to the seller are both guaranteed.

How it works

From application to retirement

The same four steps whether you are buying 100 tonnes or listing a whole project.

01

Apply

Open an account online as a company or a project developer. Large corporates and listed companies have their own account type.

02

Verify

Send photo ID and a bank statement from the last three months. Once you're approved, you receive a signed trading agreement and your access code.

03

Trade

Sellers list credits at their own price. Buyers fund their account and buy instantly. The minimum trade is 100 tonnes.

04

Retire or resell

Credits reach your registry account the same day. Retire them against your footprint, or hold them and sell them on.

Products

One market, four ways in.

Whether you trade a few hundred tonnes a year or move institutional volumes, there is an account built for it.

Carbon credit integrity

Every credit traces back to its registry.

Credits on CTX come from projects certified under recognised standards, and every trade is delivered through a direct registry link. You always know which registry holds your credits, and when they were retired.

The exchange runs on Microsoft Azure's SOC 2-audited cloud, and our trading rules and fees are published for every member to read.

Questions

What new members ask first

A carbon credit represents one tonne of CO₂e reduced or removed by a certified project. A registry issues it with a unique serial number, and once it has been retired against an emission it can never be sold again.

Companies and project developers can apply online. For our checks you will need photo ID and a bank statement from the last three months. Large corporates and listed companies have their own account type, and Corporate One is available by invitation for institutional volumes.

The same day. CTX connects directly to the registries, so credits move to the buyer and proceeds move to the seller on T+0, with no counterparty or non-delivery risk.

100 tonnes, which is 100 credits. Corporate One accounts are designed for much larger volumes.

Sellers set their own asking prices, and buyers see them live on the exchange. Prices vary with the project type, the standard, the host country and the credit's vintage.

Exchange members pay an annual membership plus a commission on trades. Corporate One accounts pay no account fee and a flat US$0.10 per credit on each side. The full schedule is set out in our published rules and fees.
